PressureGuard was created in 1999 by the pioneer and inventor of automatic tire inflation for commercial trailers.
Properly inflated tires roll smoother, generate less heat and more evenly distribute the weight of the trailer. Independent studies have shown that a trailer will lose an average of 5 psi per week whether moving or stationary.
A study conducted by the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) in 2002 surveyed over 35,000 tires on more than 6,000 units. TMC found 56% of the tires were at least 5 psi off of their targeted air pressure. Over 2,500 tires were under-inflated by 20 psi or more and 4% of the vehicles were running with at least one flat tire defined as a tire being under-inflated by 50 psi or more.
Tire under inflation decreases a tires life by an average of 10% and reduces fuel economy by at least .6%. With tires being the second largest fleet expense, a fleet can greatly reduce its maintenance costs by simply keeping its tires properly inflated.
Our patented system use the trailer's existing air supply to inflate and maintain the tire pressure on all of the trailer's tires to the optimum preset level. This ensures that the tires are running efficiently as possible and maximizes the tire's life.
The system is easy to install and can be retrofitted on existing trailers as well as ordered on new trailers.
The PressureGuard Tire Inflation System incorporates over 20 years of tire inflation knowledge and experience into it's design providing fleets the most durable automatic tire inflation system available on the market.
